Casey Elected Chair, Virginia Legislative Action Committee of Community Associations Institute

Norfolk, VA.  Vandeventer Black lawyer Deborah M. Casey has been elected Chair of the Virginia Legislative Action Committee of Community Associations Institute (VALAC).

VALAC is dedicated to monitoring and influencing legislation that affects community associations in Virginia, protecting more than 500,000 homeowners residing in community associations in the Commonwealth. VALAC reviews all House and Senate Bills which will affect the Virginia Condominium Act, the Virginia Nonstock Corporation Act and the Virginia Property Owners’ Association Act.

Casey is one of a small number of attorneys in the country practicing community association law. She is past president of the Community Associations Institute (CAI), Southeastern Virginia Chapter and is the only lawyer from Southeastern Virginia to be admitted to CAI National’s prestigious College of Community Association Lawyers.
